Matt DiBenedetto #32 Weir’s Motor Sales Ford Fusion-This is an ugly, over designed mess with an ugly color scheme. It doesn’t look good at all, and there is nothing nice I can say about it. F

Landon Cassill #34 Love’s Truck Stops Support The Troops Ford Fusion-Changing the numbers and lettering from yellow to black does NOTHING to help this scheme. Camouflage isn’t a great thing for a race car. This scheme is getting the F it deserves.

Aric Almorla #43 STP Throwback Ford Fusion-This is a throwback to one of the most legendary paint schemes of the 1980’s. It’s a faithful replica of Richard Petty’s 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix that he used to win his 200th NASCAR Winston Cup race. This couldn’t get any grade lower than an A.

Ryan Sieg #83 J&S Trucking Toyota Camry-The original scheme was over designed, and had a terrible look which earned a D+. Then this scheme came out, which fixed everything I hated about the old scheme, and went from D+ to A. This is a great scheme.
Ryan Sieg #83 BK Racing Graphics Toyota Camry-While I understand that this is meant to show off BK Racing Graphics, you could come up with something better than an over designed mess with a mediocre color scheme. It needs work, but it’s not completely terrible. B-
Stephen Light #83 Dustless Blasting Toyota Camry-Dustless Blasting took a bad scheme, and made it worse. The black does not work with the design scheme, and it is just an awful look. This scheme gets the F it deserves.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 Nationwide Throwback Chevy SS-Not only is this a throwback to Dale Jr.’s Xfinity Series AC Delco scheme, it’s also a throwback to Dale Sr.’s Japanese AC Delco scheme. It’s a great scheme, and it looks great! A

The Driver Suit Blog-How I Spent My Summer Break

‘Tis the beginning of August, my vacation has ended, and I’m back to normal on The Driver Suit Blog. I’m rested, refreshed, and ready for anything. I had a great vacation! I really do love doing The Driver Suit Blog, but I need a break, and nothing beats July in Chicago!
The first week was more or less spend getting ready for the Route 66 Nationals. I had to do a few things to get ready, but then the weekend finally came and I went, enjoyed myself, and had a great time with my friends!
What I love about having time off is that I can work on side projects, and not have to worry about time constraints, which is an issue, due to both The Driver Suit Blog and my works schedule. I was able to get a lot of work done without interruptions.
Much of my time was spent working on box break videos,
beer review videos,
soda review videos,
and thunderstorm videos.
These videos are somewhat time consuming, but just being able to sit down and work on these videos can be a challenge sometimes. But I did what I wanted to do, and I got my videos done, and I’m happy with them.
I also got to spend some more time hanging out with my friends, which due to schedule conflicts isn’t easy to do. I had a great time with them, I’ve known them since high school, and we are still close after all these years.
All in all I needed the time to decompress and relax. Now that we are done with that, back to normal! Next week, I’ll discuss a Bosch promotional suit.

All aboard the Candyland Express! The design looks really good. Jolly Ranchers had a really good logo that worked well on the sides of dragsters. This is no exception. I don’t really get the shade of tan that they felt the need to use. It just doesn’t look good. Also, if you pay attention to the right, you see the old four amber Christmas tree, which was eliminated in competition in 1986 due to Pro Stock drivers not being able to see the green light. It’s a solid A- scheme.
The Driver Suit Blog-My Thoughts On Various Racing News Stories

Since I’ve been on vacation, there have been a number of newsworthy events that have garnered my attention. I’m going to discuss some of them today and give my brief take on each story.
-Alex Bowman is going to replace the retiring Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the #88 in 2018. I think this sums up Hendrick’s mindset perfectly. There are a number of decent drivers in both Cup and Xfinity Series competition, and people within Hendrick are convinced that Alex Bowman, who has done NOTHING in his career, aside from some ARCA races.
In three years, Hendrick Motorsports has gone from the gold standard down to the bronze standard. Hendrick is becoming the new Roush Fenway Racing! Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have been replaced by Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman. Their program of supplying equipment to other teams has gone by the wayside. They simply are not as formidable and marketable than they used to be. The question needs to be asked, is this the beginning of the end of Hendrick Motorsports? If things keep going in the direction they are, then it very well could be
-The Silly Season continues with Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, and Paul Menard all switching teams for 2018. Blaney is going to Penske for a third full-time team, Erik Jones is replacing Matt Kenseth in the #20, and Menard is going to the Wood Brothers. I can’t really disagree with any of these moves. They are smart moves all around.
-Target announced that this is the last year they will be sponsoring the #42 of Kyle Larson. This is a little confusing since Larson can now be considered a top-shelf driver, and he is very much a championship caliber driver. However, if it comes down to the sponsorship not being economically viable, then it is the right decision.
-The NHRA announced that they will soon be regulating the so-called “swept-back headers” in Funny Car. Currently, the maximum angle they can be is 32 degrees, however, in 2018, that will change to 40 degrees. I’m going to be interested in seeing how this change will affect teams. It’s been established that Courtney Force, and, presumably, the rest of the John Force Racing Funny Cars use the 40 degree headers. Yet Matt Hagan, and presumably the rest of Don Schumacher Racing use the 32 degree headers. Will this put Force ahead of Schumacher? It remains to be seen.
-I was thinking about the rivalry between Force and Schumacher. Don Schumacher and John Force have a rivalry that rivals Force and Cruz Pedregon’s rivalry in the 1990’s. But what I’ve been noticing is that every year, one says something that riles the other up. What then happens is that there is a tension between the two for a while, but then that cools down. I’m wondering how far is too far? I’m really concerned that one or the other is going to take one step too far, and it’s going to get everyone in trouble. I hope both sides can work something out to avoid that happening.
-Indy Car has announced and shown the new cars that will be running in 2018. There are two different aero kits, one that is raced at super-speedway ovals, and the other which is raced at all other events. The drivers seem to be happy with this new package, and I’m looking forward to seeing it in action.
-When it comes to this site, everything is back to normal starting this week. The Paint Scheme Grades and Tracker will be up and ready. It was a fun vacation, which I’ll discuss more on Friday!
