By David G. Firestone

Ross Chastain #1 Moose Fraternity Chevy Camaro-A slight downgrade from last year. A-

Austin Dillon #3 Bass Pro Shops/Winchester Long Beard XR Chevy Camaro-Too over designed, and while the color scheme is decent, it doesn’t save the scheme. F

Noah Gragson #4 Long John Silver’s Ford Mustang-Same scheme as #34, same C grade.

Brad Keselowski #6 Solomon Plumbing Throwback Ford Mustang-I like the look, it’s very accurate, and I think this a good throwback. A

Daniel Suarez #7 NationsGuard Chevy Camaro-Not better, not worse, still a C.

Kyle Busch #8 BetMGM Chevy Camaro-This is too cluttered, too busy, and not even a good color scheme could save this from an F.

Denny Hamlin #11 Sport Clips Haircuts Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same B+ grade.

Chris Buescher #17 Fifth Third Bank Throwback Ford Mustang-I like the look, the blue works well, and I think this a good throwback. A

Bubba Wallace #23 Columbia Sportswear Toyota Camry-Blue works better than gray and this scheme gets an A.

Todd Gilliland #34 Ruedbusch Development and Construction Throwback Ford Mustang-Admittedly, this scheme is over used, but this is a good interpretation of it. A

Riley Herbst #35 FRE Nicotine Pouches Toyota Camry-Decent color scheme, mediocre design scheme will earn a C.

Zane Smith #38 Mystik Lubricants Throwback Ford Mustang-I’m all for throwbacks, but I hated this in 2000, and I hate this now. This gets an F.

Erik Jones #43 Advent Health Toyota Camry-Petty Enterprise throwbacks usually are, and this is no exception. A

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. #47 Jack Links Non-Vegan Chevy Camaro-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Ty Gibbs #54 SiriusXM Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same C grade.

Ryan Preece #60 Kroger/Oscar Mayer/Heinz Throwback Ford Mustang-I like the look, it’s very accurate, and I think this a good throwback. A

Ross Chastain #1 Busch Light Fishing Chevy Camaro-I like the fishing motif, and the car looks great! A

Austin Cindric #2 Freightliner Throwback Ford Mustang-If I had a favorite non-Goodwrench Dale Sr scheme, it would be this one. No disrespect for Wrangler, but this is so much better! Unless something better comes along, this is my pick for Throwback of the Year! A

Noah Gragson #4 Beef-a-Roo Throwback Ford Mustang-I like the look, and I think Mom ‘n’ Pops should make a NASCAR comeback. A

Kyle Larson #5 HendrickCars.com Throwback Chevy Camaro-I can’t really knock this scheme, but I have too much love for the 1990’s Kellogg’s scheme. This is great, so this gets an A.

Brad Keselowski #6 Castrol Seven Critical Areas Ford Mustang-As much as I like the concept, I think the oil on the posts just looks odd. I’d also love to see a car colored like fresh motor oil. This gets a B, but with work, it would get an A.

Chase Elliott #9 UniFirst Chevy Throwback Camaro-As a scheme it’s fine, but as a throwback it falls flat. It’s too different from the original. I’ll give this a C.

Ty Dillon #10 Beaver Street Fisheries Throwback Chevy Camaro-I love the look, it’s a very faithful throwback, and I love the CHEVY on the hood! A

Denny Hamlin #11 Sport Clips Haircuts Throwback Toyota Camry-A good, faithful throwback, and the look works well. A

Ryan Blaney #12 Menards/Dutch Boy Throwback Ford Mustang-A little too different from the original scheme, in terms of colors and design. It’s not bad, but far from perfect. B

Christopher Bell #20 DeWalt Outdoors Throwback Ford Mustang-A little too different from the original scheme, in terms of colors and design. It’s not bad, but far from perfect. B

Josh Berry #21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Throwback Ford Mustang-Another amazing throwback, this one an Indy 500 winner that transfers well to NASCAR. A

Joey Logano #22 Shell Pennzoil Throwback Ford Mustang-This is a scheme that doesn’t get a lot of love, but boy do I love this! A

William Byron #24 Axalta Throwback Chevy Camaro-As much as I liked the original scheme, I, like a lot of fans, felt that Jeff should have raced the original rainbow warriors scheme. Still, this is really good. A

Austin Hill #33 United Rentals Chevy Camaro-Not better, not worse, just awful. F

Todd Gilliland #34 Ruedebusch Throwback Ford Mustang-It’s obscure, but it’s faithful, and it looks good. A

Zane Smith #38 Long John Silver’s Throwback Ford Mustang-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Cole Custer will drive the No. 41 Haas Automation Throwback Ford Mustang-I never really liked the Spencer Target schemes, they used a bit too much white for my taste. That said, it’s still a decent look, so it gets a B.

John Hunter Nemechek #42 Dollar Tree Throwback Toyota Camry-This is a scheme where the new colors work so much better than the old ones! I like the old colors, but the new colors are better. A

Erik Jones #43 Advent Health Throwback Toyota Camry-Even though I think there are better Petty STP schemes, this is a faithful replica, so this gets an A.

Tyler Reddick #45 McDonald’s Toyota Camry-The bun works so much better than the fries. The car looks better. A

Alex Bowman #48 Ally Throwback Chevy Camaro-It’s simple, but effective, and faithful, so this gets an A.

Burt Myers #50 C3 Chevy Camaro-It has the potential to be good, but there is a little too much going on. It’s not awful, but not good. C

Cody Ware #51 Jacob Construction Throwback Ford Mustang-Cat schemes can be hit or miss, but this is a hit. A

Ryan Preece #60 Kroger/Country Crock Ford Mustang-It’s simple, it’s bold, it’s unique, and it looks good. A

Casey Mears #66 HitchGo Ford Mustang-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Michael McDowell #71 Delaware Life Chevy Camaro-Not better, not worse, just meh. C-

Daniel Suarez #99 Quaker State Chevy Camaro-Not better, not worse, just meh. C
