The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-May 28,2016

By David G. Firestone

Jamie McMurray #1 Bass Pro Shops/National Wild Turkey Federation Chevy SS-Camo is an automatic one letter grade deduction, but the scheme is so bad, it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. I don’t like the use of the turkey, I think it looks awful, and the color scheme is not great. F

Jamie McMurray #1 Cessna/McDonald’s Patriotic Chevy SS-The switching from white to red is an improvement, and actually takes this scheme from a B+ to an A-.

Brad Keselowski #2 Miller Lite Patriotic Ford Fusion-The pointless addition of “patriotic” element take one of the best schemes, and an A+ scheme down to a C-.

Brad Keselowski #2 Miller Lite 1972 Throwback Ford Fusion-Great throwback, love the ambitiousness of the design, and the color scheme is great. A+

Austin Dillon #3 Cheerios/Lee’s East Rowan Cafe Chevy SS-Same as Cheerios, but with Lee’s East Rowan Cafe on quarter panels, same A+ grade.

Trevor Bayne #6 Advocare Patriotic Ford Fusion-When your regular colors are red, white, and blue, YOU DON’T NEED A SPECIAL PATRIOTIC SCHEME THAT ADDS EXTRA COLORS! As if that wasn’t bad enough, the design scheme looks terrible. F

Danica Patrick #10 Nature’s Bakery Patriotic Chevy SS-Camo is not a good look on race cars, and normally, I would deduct one letter grade from the grade, but this scheme is so bad, I’m just going to give it an F.

Greg Biffle #16 Cheez-Its Patriotic Ford Fusion-The patriotic elements at the bottom of the car just look forced, and the car as a whole is taken from an A+ down to a B+

Kyle Busch #18 M&M’s Patriotic Toyota Camry-A good scheme that works well as a patriotic scheme. The design works well with red, white, and blue, and works well. A+

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. #17 Fastenal Patriotic Ford Fusion-The trimming of the stripes on the sides look good, and the addition of the red around the star look really good. Fastenal took a B+ scheme up to an A-.

Joey Logano #22 Shell/Pennzoil Mosiac Ford Fusion-The Shell/Pennzoil scheme is bad to begin with, but the mosaic motif just makes it look worse. F

Chase Elliott #24 NAPA Patriotic Chevy SS-If you do a patriotic scheme, could you commit to it, and not just take your normal scheme, and add some patriotic elements to it? It just looks lazy. It’s like writing a term paper the night before it’s due. D+

Chase Elliott #24 NAPA Throwback Chevy SS-While I like the idea of the vintage NAPA logo, could you commit to it, and add them to the quarter panel? It’s not a bad scheme, but not adding it to the quarter panel is not a great move. I’ll give it a B- since the color and design schemes do work here.

Ryan Newman #31 Whelen Chevy SS-Not a bad looking scheme at all, the red works well, the white sides work well, and the car as a whole is a good looking car. A+

Chris Buescher #34 CSX Play It Safe Hire Our Veterans Ford Fusion-Two words: Purple Camo. F

Landon Cassill #38 MDS Patriotic Ford Fusion-It’s a patriotic scheme that works well with the sponsor, and the design scheme for Front Row. A+

Landon Cassill #38 MDS Patriotic Ford Fusion-It’s a patriotic scheme that works well with the sponsor, and the design scheme for Front Row. A+

Kyle Larson #42 Target Scott Dixon Chevy SS-Scott Dixon’s throwback scheme is really good on his IndyCar, and that good look transfers to the Target Chevy of Kyle Larson. I can’t say anything bad about this scheme. A+

Martin Truex Jr. #78 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevy SS-New scheme for 2016, same as Bass Pro Shops, but more the camo is more prominent. F

Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 Nationwide Patriotic Chevy SS-When I said I wanted a total commitment to a patriotic scheme, this is EXACTLY what I meant! This is a great looking scheme, and the waving flag motif works very well. I can’t say anything bad about this scheme. A+

Matt DiBenedetto #83 Hope For Warriors Toyota Camry-Let’s just put as many patriotic designs we can on the side of a car and see how it looks…well it looks awful!  F

Michael McDowel #95 Thrivent Financial Patriotic Chevy SS-See Dale Earnhardt Jr. above. A+

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-May 21, 2016

By David G. Firestone

Kasey Kahne #5 Great Clips Strong Against Cancer Chevy SS-I’m looking at this scheme, and asking myself “Why does this scheme have a snake/leopard motif?” Seriously, the hood and roof designs have nothing to do with the rest of the deisgn. It just looks awful, and I’ll give it a D-

Kasey Kahne #5 Great Clips/Shark Week Chevy SS-This is a great scheme. The teal water with shark motif works quite well, and the overall design is great too. I can’t give it anything less than an A+

The following three grades are going to fall into a new protocol change effective immediately. When there are multiple schemes that fans can vote for, I will grade all of them individually, and the scheme that wins will be the one used in the final grade of the season.

Denny Hamlin #11 FedEx Cares Choice 1 Toyota Camry-I like the overall design, except for the white on the hood. If the white were replaced by blue, it would be a much better scheme. But it’s not horrible, so I give it a B+.

Denny Hamlin #11 FedEx Cares Choice 2 Toyota Camry-While the color scheme is good, the door design needs work, since it looks too much like a Petty car design, and the star motif is awful. The only thing giving this scheme a passing grade is the good color scheme. D-

Denny Hamlin #11 FedEx Cares Choice 3 Toyota Camry-With this scheme, not even a great color scheme can save it from an F. The wave design is giving me motion sickness.

Kyle Busch #18 Interstate Batteries Dale Jarrett Throwback Toyota Camry-Nothing will earn an A+ grade quicker than a great throwback, and this is a great throwback!

Carl Edwards #19 Arris Surfboard Toyota Camry-Much simpler design for Arris, and the color scheme is great too. I give it an A+.

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Knauf Chevy SS-The new template is an improvement on the design, but in a D- to D sense. If you have to have black lines separating colors, that may be a hint that you are using too many light colors. The blue is awful, and doesn’t work well with the yellow at all.

Ryan Newman #31 Granger/Caterpillar Chevy SS-Good look, with a great color scheme, nothing wrong here. A+

Jeffery Earnhardt #32 NC Lottery Ford Fusion-Black is always a good look for race cars, and this is no example. Great look. A+

AJ Allmendinger #47 Unwharrie Bank Chevy SS-Green and red are acceptable at Christmas time, but not on the side of a race car. The design itself isn’t bad, but it could be better. The scheme is mediocre at best, so I’ll give it a C+.

AJ Allmendinger #47 Harris Teeter Chevy SS-Same basic scheme as Kroger’s, same A+ grade.

Reed Sorenson #55 World Record Striper Company Chevy SS-It’s a bold look, but the river water-esque fade and the giant bass works quite well, and it has a unique look. It earns an A+.

Kyle Busch #75 M&M’s Throwback Toyota Camry-The vintage look is a great idea, and the anniversary number is good too. It earns an A+.

Cole Whitt #98 Vydrox Plus Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-May 14, 2016

By David G. Firestone

Austin Dillon #3 American Ethanol Ricky Rudd Throwback Chevy SS-I love the direction that Richard Childress Racing went this year, with the Ricky Rudd throwback. It’s an amazing look. I can’t say enough good things about this scheme, and I give it an A+.

Danica Patrick #10 Nature’s Bakery/Autism Delaware Chevy SS-Same basic scheme as Nature’s Bakery but with Autism Delaware on quarter panels, same A+ grade.

Casey Mears #13 Geico Smokey Yunick Throwback Chevy SS-Another good throwback from an interesting source. I love the Yunick look, as long as they don’t Yunick the rules. A+

Kyle Busch #18 M&M’s Patriotic Toyota Camry-It’s a really good look for Kyle, and the color scheme fits very well with the M&M’s motif.  I can’t really say anything bad about this scheme, so I’ll give it an A+.

David Ragan #23 Bubba Burger Toyota Camry-Camo on race car is not, has never been and never will be a good look. This example is just awful. Even standard issue camo is better than this nonsense! I give it an F.

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Schrock Chevy SSAnother good look for the new Menard’s template. The purple works quite well here, and the car has a good look. A+

Ryan Newman #31 Caterpillar Ricky Rudd Throwback Chevy SS-See Austin Dillon above. A+

Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 Mountain Dew Patriotic Chevy SS-Um…patriotic? This is supposed to be patriotic? Are we living in Mauritania? I was under the assumption that a patriotic scheme involved the colors red, white, and blue. I think we have found the most unpatriotic patriotic paint scheme in history. I give it an F, and I’m being very kind.

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-May 7, 2016

Kevin Harvick #4 Busch Fishing Chevy SS-I’m shocked at how good the fish design looks. When I heard about this scheme, I thought it would be overdone, but it looks really good, and earns an A+.

Kasey Kahne #5 Drive Home A Winner Chevy SS-The best Kasey has looked all year is this red, white and blue scheme to promote Drive Home a Winner. Great color and design schemes earns an A+

Trevor Bayne #6 Advocare Mark Martin Throwback Ford Fusion-Continuing the Mark Martin throwback theme, this scheme represents his car from 1996-1997. It’s a great look, and very faithful to the original. I give it an A+

Regan Smith #7 Golden Corral Chevy SS-I’m not a fan of some of Golden Corral’s schemes, but this one works very well. It has a great color scheme, and the smooth design looks great, and earns an A+.

Danica Patrick #10 Aspen Dental Tooth Fairy Chevy SS-Just when I think it couldn’t get worse, Aspen Dental comes out with this…and redeems themselves. This is a great scheme with a great color scheme, and a great design scheme. I think this is the best Aspen Dental has ever looked, and the best Danica has looked in quite some time. A+

Danica Patrick #10 Nature’s Bakery/April O’Neil Chevy SS-Well that escalated fast! We went from one of the best Danica schemes to one of the worst Danica schemes ever! If the design was plain blue with the Turtles and April, I would give it a C-, but the needless designs make it look worse, and I can’t give it higher than an F.

Tony Stewart #14 Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Chevy SS-Same basic scheme as Mobil 1, Same A+ Grade.

Clint Bowyer #15 AccuDoc Solutions Chevy SS-If it followed the same template as the rest of Clint’s schemes, I would grade it an A, but the stripes on the sides are blah, and it takes the scheme down to a B-.

Kyle Busch #18 Skittles/Marvel Toyota Camry-I get the red/green thing for Marvel’s Captain America Civil War, but couldn’t you have picked a better color? Why not go with Wildberry, and have the purple, which would work well with the movie. Captain America Vs. Iron Man. Still, it’s not horrible, and I give it a B-

Kyle Busch #18 M&M’s Red Nose Day Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

David Ragan #23 Schuler Systems Toyota Camry-Same scheme as #83, same D-grade.

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Moen Chevy SS-The light blue doesn’t work with the Menard’s Template, and while the black could have saved it, the baby blue door numbers don’t do the scheme any flavors, and the scheme gets a C-

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Nebco Chevy SS-Same basic scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Bobby Labonte #32 Rimrock Devlin Ford Fusion-I’ve gotten a headache from trying to figure out why Rimrock Devin used a scheme from 2015, THAT WASN’T EVEN THEIRS! Last year, Rimrock Devlin had a bad scheme, and C&J Energy had a bad scheme, and for whatever reason, Rimrock decided to use C&J’s scheme, rather than design their own. Anyway, it was an F grade last year, and it’s an F grade this year.

Chris Buescher #34 Love’s/CSX Play It Safe Ford Fusion-Same basic scheme as Love’s same A+ grade.

David Gilliland #35 Southern Belle Seafood Ford Fusion-Except for the number change, same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Kyle Larson #42 Clorox/Target Chevy SS-The Clorox scheme is bad by itself, but when you have the Clorox and Target schemes trying and failing to co-exist on the same car, it just looks awful. The out of place Glad logo on the side doesn’t help either. F

Michael Annett #46 Allstate Peterbuilt Group Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Aric Almirola #43 Fresh From Florida Ford Fusion-Same scheme as last year, same F grade.

AJ Allmendinger #47 Bruce Hill Throwback Chevy SS-I like a good throwback, and this is a good throwback. I also give special credit for finding a paint scheme not many people have seen before. Add it the good color and design schemes, and it’s easy to see why this scheme earns an A+.

AJ Allmendinger #47 Dillons/Glad Chevy SS-Same basic scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Michael Waltrip #55 Peak Chevy SS-Same as Clint Bowyer’s #15, same A+ grade.

Matt DiBenedetto #83 Dustless Blasting Toyota Camry-Same as #93, same B- grade.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Chevy SS-Dark blue works well. The butterflies are a bit gaudy, but it works, and the donor names are a nice touch. It’s an A+ grade.

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-April 23, 2016

By David G. Firestone

Kasey Kahne #5 Dewcision Mountain Dew Pitch Black Chevy SS-So Mountain Dew is giving fans the opportunity to bring back one of two flavors, Pitch Black or Baja Blast in a competition called “Dewcision.” They are running three paint schemes to promote it, and all of them are exactly the same except for colors. The color schemes themselves are good, but the design is horrible, and they just look bad, so I give them all a D-.

Kasey Kahne #5 Drive to End Hunger Chevy SS-This is the best Kasey has looked all year! Great design, great color scheme, and a great look. I give it an A+

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. #17 Fifth-Third Bank Ford Fusion-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Kyle Busch #18 Pedigree Toyota Camry-This was a great scheme last year, and this year, they have improved on it. I didn’t think it could get better, but it has. The removal of the blue stripe, and the color change looks really good, and earns an A+.

Carl Edwards #19 Xfinity Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same B- grade.

Chase Elliott #24 Dewcision Mountain Dew Baja Blast Chevy SS-So Mountain Dew is giving fans the opportunity to bring back one of two flavors, Pitch Black or Baja Blast in a competition called “Dewcision.” They are running three paint schemes to promote it, and all of them are exactly the same except for colors. The color schemes themselves are good, but the design is horrible, and they just look bad, so I give them all a D-.

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Duracel Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Chris Buescher #34 A&W Ford Fusion-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Michael Annett #46 Pilot/Flying J/Battle of Bristol Chevy SS-Same scheme as white Pilot/Flying J, same A+ grade.

Jimmie Johnson #48 Lowe’s Patriotic Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same B+ grade.

Jimmie Johnson #48 Lowe’s Pro Services Chevy SS-Proving once again that the yellow door numbers make a difference, the minor change takes a C- scheme up to a B+ scheme.

Matt DiBenedetto #83 RMC Events Toyota Camry-The color scheme is good, but I do not like the zig-zag design. It doesn’t look good. The scheme would look better if the stripe was straight or diagonal. This just looks like a mess. The color scheme gives it a B-.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 Dewcision Chevy SS-So Mountain Dew is giving fans the opportunity to bring back one of two flavors, Pitch Black or Baja Blast in a competition called “Dewcision.” They are running three paint schemes to promote it, and all of them are exactly the same except for colors. The color schemes themselves are good, but the design is horrible, and they just look bad, so I give them all a D-.

Ryan Ellis #93 Science Logic Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same D+ grade.

Michael McDowell #95 WRL Contractors Ford Fusion-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Michael McDowell #95 WRL Contractors/MastiClean Ford Fusion-I HATE the leaf motif on the sides. It’s ugly, contrasts will the color scheme, and just doesn’t look good. The car as a whole looks good, but the quarter panels are awful. B-

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-April 16, 2016

By David G. Firestone

Brad Keselowski #2 Thomas Build Buses Ford Fusion-The Penske Template works very well with red and black. It’s a very solid look, and I have to give it an A+.

Austin Dillon #3 Bass Pro Shops/Ranger Boats Chevy SS-Not as bad as I was expecting, though I could do without the orange. The camo actually doesn’t look that bad here. B+

Kevin Harvick #4 Busch Throwback Chevy SS– My one complaint about this throwback is that the door numbers don’t extend past the bottom of the blue. The original scheme has the door numbers below the blue, to the point that the blue bottom is the halfway point of the door numbers. Still, I can’t say it’s a horrible look, it is a great throwback. A

Regan Smith #7 Nikko/Road Rippers Alan Kulwicki Throwback Chevy SS-It would be a better throwback if the number was correct, and logos were color coordinated. I’ll be generous and give it a C+.

Danica Patrick #10 Nature’s Bakery Brownies Chevy SS-This is a case of a good design not working well with a color scheme. The brown, blue, and white color scheme is good, the design scheme is good, but they don’t work that well with each other. B-

Brian Vickers #14 TaxAct Millitary Chevy SS-The camo motif doesn’t look good in place of the green, which does look good, and this scheme earns a C+.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. #17 Fastenal Throwback Ford Fusion-The orange looks good, and the overall design is very faithful to the original. It looks really good. A+

Carl Edwards #19 Comcast Business Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same D- grade.

David Ragan #23 Sweet Frog Toyota Camry-Neon green and hot pink was NEVER a good look, nor will it ever be a good look. I also have to give Sweet Frog credit for finding a shade of green almost as bad as the Seattle Seahawks did. Any other color scheme, and I mean ANY OTHER color scheme would earn this scheme a passing grade, but this deserves an F.

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Tarkett Chevy SS-Blue works a lot better with the Menard’s template than I would have thought, and here is a perfect example. The shade of blue contrasts perfectly with the yellow, and earns an A+.

Jeffery Earnhardt #32 Visone/Corvette Parts Ford Fusion-Same scheme as Corvette Parts but with a different hood logo. It still looks awful and earns an F

Kurt Bush #41 Hass VF1/Monster Chevy SS-It’s the same basic scheme as Danica’s, but the color scheme is MUCH BETTER! The Haas VF1 logo looks good here too, and the stripe fade to the Monster rear looks good too. I do think that this scheme makes the car look cluttered. I’ll give it a B+.

Brian Scott #44 Go Bowling Ford Fusion-I LOVE the bowling ball motif, and the rest of the scheme looks really good, with a smooth look and a simple design. A+

Brian Scott #44 Albertson’s/Tom Thumb Ford Fusion-Same basic scheme as Albertson’s, same A+ grade.

Brian Scott #44 Shore Lodge Ford Fusion-If the Petty blue was removed, the scheme would work. The contrast of the black with the baby blue door number and door design looks out of place, and takes what could have easily been an A+ down to a C+.

AJ Allmendinger #47 Bush’s Baked Beans Chevy SSSame scheme as last year, same B+ grade.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. #88 Nationwide Grey Ghost Chevy SS-One of the more unique designs in the history of NASCAR is faitfully represented here. Earnhardt’s Buddy Baker Throwbacks are good, and I hope the driver suit matches. I will give this the A+ it deserves.

Dale Earnhardt #88 Axalta/CarStar Chevy SS-Same scheme as Axalta, same A+ grade.

Cole Whitt #98 RTIC Coolers Toyota Camry-A smooth look with a really good color scheme will always earn an A+.

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-April 9, 2016

By David G. Firestone

Jamie McMurray #1 Bad Boy/Beechcraft Chevy SS-Same scheme as Beechcraft, same B+ grade.

Austin Dillon #3 Dow FlexoLyt Chevy SS-Same scheme as Intellifresh, same B- grade.

Regan Smith #7 Fire Alarm Services Chevy SS-Orange on black is a bold design, and the city motif looks really good. It’s subtle and bold at the same time, and that’s hard to do. A+

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. #17 Zest Ford Fusion-The simpler design works well, and the bubble motif works with the sponsor, but the color scheme still sucks, and the best I can give it is a C+.

Kyle Busch #18 Banfield Pet Hospital Toyota Camry-While I’m not a fan of the sick pets, the car as a whole is good, with a great color scheme, and a great design scheme. I give it an A+.

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Rockstar Chevy SS-Based on what I’ve seen so far, the new Menard’s template seems to work well with every color, and this scheme is no exception, with the black front working with the yellow as a whole. A+

Josh Wise #30 Crawfest/City of New Braunfels Chevy SS-It’s a simple design, and the hood logo looks really good. A+

Joey Gase #32 Donate Life Ford Fusion-It’s a smooth look, with a great color scheme, and a HUGE improvement on last year’s scheme. A+

Kurt Busch #41 State Water Heaters Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same B- grade.

Aric Almirola #43 Waffle House Ford Fusion-The bright yellow and Petty blue just don’t work with each other. They would work independently, but together, they look awful. D-

Jimmie Johnson #48 Lowe’s Chevy SS-I hope the yellow logos stay, because this scheme looks so much better with yellow door numbers than white ones. B+

Reed Sorenson #55 Chevy SS-It’s a smooth look, with a great color scheme, and you can’t go wrong with that!. A+

Ty Dillon #95 Nexium 24 Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same grade. A-

Cole Whitt #98 Chevy SS-It’s a smooth look, with a great color scheme, and you can’t go wrong with that!. A+

By David G. Firestone

Regan Smith #7 APC Chevy SS-It’s a good scheme with a smooth look, and a great color scheme. A+

Regan Smith #7 AIPAC Chevy SS-See above. A+

Chase Elliot #24 Sun Energy Chevy SS-Think they overdid this scheme just a bit? Wow! Like most J.J. Abrams films, it has too much flare. F

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/Libman Chevy SS-I’ve said that Menard’s templates can be everything from great to awful depending on what color the hood sponsor has. In this case, the template looks good, because the green works very well. A+

Josh Wise #30 Toyota Camry-Not a bad look at all. A+

Brian Scott #44 Von’s Ford Fusion-Same scheme as Albertson’s, same A+ grade.

Brian Scott #44 Goody’s Ford Fusion-Get rid of the yellow scheme B+

AJ Allmendinger #47 Louisiana Hot Sauce Chevy SS-The shade of red really looks good, and the fame motif works well with a hot sauce brand. A+

AJ Allmendinger #47 Kroger/Coffee Mate/Butterfinger Chevy SS-Same as Kroger, same A+ grade.

Cole Whitt #98 Rinnai Ford Fusion-It’s a good scheme with a smooth look, and a great color scheme. A+

Denny Hamlin #11 SportClips Toyota CamrySame scheme as last year, same C- grade.

Brian Vickers #14 Janssen Chevy SS-I didn’t think this scheme could get any better…but it has! A+

Paul Menard #27 Menard’s/FVP Chevy SS-Another instance of the Menard’s template working very well with a color scheme. A+

Ryan Newman #31 Wix Filters Chevy SS–I didn’t think this scheme could get any worse…but it has! F

Joey Gase #32 JT Concrete Inc Ford Fusion-Great color scheme, and a great design scheme will always earn an A+.

Aric Almirola #43 STP Ford Fusion– A downgrade from last year’s great throwback scheme, the pointless door design becomes part of the paint scheme. I don’t think it looks great, but it isn’t awful. B-

AJ Allmendinger #47 Food For Less Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year,A+ same grade.

Matt DiBenedetto #83 Cosmo Motors Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same C- grade.

The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-March 12, 2016

By David G. Firestone

Austin Dillon #3 AAA Chevy SS-Simiar in design to Robert Hight’s funny car, which looks great, but with needless extra designs, and rearranged colors takes a B+ scheme down to a D+.

Regan Smith #7 Chevy SS-A smooth look and a great color scheme, no complaints here! A+

Matt Kenseth #20 DeWalt Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Paul Menard #27 Richmond/Menard’s Chevy SS-The new Menard’s template can be temperamental, but this color scheme works very well. Black works well with Menard’s and the scheme earns an A+.

Chris Buescher #34 Dockside Logistics Ford Fusion-A smooth look and a great color scheme, no complaints here! A+

Chris Buescher #34 CSX Play it Safe Ford Fusion-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.

Landon Cassill #38 Snap Fitnaess Ford Fusion-Great color scheme with a smooth design will always earn an A+.

Michael Annett #46 Pilot/Flying J Chevy SS-The shade of red works well, and the overall design looks great, and earns an A+.

AJ Allmendinger #47 Fry’s Chevy SS-Same basic scheme as last year same A+ grade.

Matt DiBenedetto #83 Cosmo Motors Toyota Camry-It’s a smooth look with a great color scheme, and a HUGE improvement over last year. A+

Matt DiBenedetto #83 Schluter Systems Toyota Camry-The look is an odd one. The two designs clash a little with each other, and the stripes are dizzying. The color scheme is decent, but that can’t save it from a D-.

Cole Whitt #98 Speed Stick Chevy SS-Same scheme as last year, same A+ grade.
