The Driver Suit Blog-Paint Scheme Grades-January 22, 2022

By David G. Firestone

Ross Chastain #1 Advent Health Chevy Camaro-Advent Health loves to over design their cars using bad color and design schemes. This one might be their worst yet. Everything about this scheme is wrong. F

Kevin Harvick #4 Rheem Ford Mustang-I think the car is a bit over designed, but the color scheme is good, and the design isn’t awful, so I’ll give it a B+

Kyle Larson #5 Hendrickcars.com Chevy Camaro-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Tyler Reddick #8 3Chi Chevy Camaro-I like this look, I think it’s great, and the new number position works well here. A

Chase Elliott #9 LLumar Window Film Chevy Camaro-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Aric Almirola #10 Smithfield Foods Ford Mustang-As much as I like metallic gold on race cars, it looks forced here. It serves no real purpose, and just looks odd. It’s a great scheme regardless, so I’ll give it an A-

Christopher Bell #20 Rheem Toyota Camry-Same scheme as last year, same A grade.

Erik Jones #43 U.S. Air Force Chevy Camaro-The dark green works well, and the smooth simple look is great. A

Timmy Hill #66 Bumper.com Ford Mustang-The pink isn’t needed, and the car isn’t needed. The rest of the color scheme looks decent, and the design scheme is decent, so I’ll give this a C.

Daniel Suarez #99 Commscope Chevy Camaro-Same scheme as last year, same F grade.

I'm just a normal guy who collects race-worn driver suits, helmets, sheet metal, and other race-worn items. I will use this blog to help collectors, and race fans alike understand the various aspects of driver suits and helmets, and commentate on paint schemes.
